About Kim

Kim Lande

Guide, peacemaker, mess maker, Heartist in residence

Without always knowing it, Kim has been a Heartist her entire life. The “wild” part – well, that came later.

Kim grew up in a house filled with her mom’s portraits and naked lady sculptures. As a child, she drew in every spare moment when she wasn’t posing (clothed) for hours while her mom painted oil portraits of her. Her mother left behind a collection of beautiful paintings of Kim and her sisters looking bored and pissed off. She died in 2019 and they are now a cherished part of her legacy.

For Kim, art is in her blood. At one point, she thought she would be a professional artist, until she realized she would need to show others her art. Too scary, she thought.  With her mom’s fine art paintings as a measuring stick, Kim falsely believed she needed to make “perfect” art. This was just a story she told herself, of course. So she avoided the persistent urge to just play with paint -for years.

Instead, Kim followed her passion as a creative marketing strategist, storyteller and writer for non-profit organizations and opened her own studio, LandeInk in 1999. Kim’s life play, art from the heart, had to wait. After all, she needed to make a living, wash dishes, raise a family. I’m too busy, she told herself. (Bullshit).

Yet, art and color nudged at her constantly. In 2020, She stumbled into the Intentional Creativity process with Shiloh Sophia and fell wildly in LOVE. “I’m not good enough” disappeared and the simple act of creating with love by feeling, intuiting and being authentic took her home to her true creative nature. After a year of training to be an Intentional Creativity teacher and coach, Wild Heartist Studio was born. She’s had paint under her nails ever since.

Kim’s great joy is in helping others find their Wild Heartist, get lost in the making and find reverence in their own badass creative selves.

Where does the wild come in? Have you ever painted with your feet? Danced to Aretha Franklin with a paintbrush? Let your anger fly in black marker? Released all inhibitions and just thrown paint on a canvas? One thing is for sure, WILD FEELS GOOD. There’s truly no limit to what you create when you allow it to all just FLOW.
